چکیده

The massive sulfide deposits (VMS) from Mănăilă are associated with the metamorphic formations of Tulgheș Lithogroup Bucovinian Nappes Crystalline-Mesozoic Zone in Eastern Carpathians, Romania. following types ore were identified: pyrite-polymetallic, pyrite copper, compact and precompact quartz-precompact copper. polymetallic mineralization consists pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, subordinately arsenopyrite tennantite. especially quartz-copper mineralizations, have a distinct mineralogical composition compared to other metamorphosed mineralizations Lithogroup. These contain large amounts bornite chalcocite along chalcopyrite. Tennantite is abundant has up 3.57 wt.% bismuth. Wittichenite was identified for first time mawsonite as occurrence An unnamed mineral formula: Cu,Fe11Pb,AgS7 also identified, belonging sulfides group. pyrite-rich ores, located sericite ± quartzite schists covered by rhyolitic metatuffs, hydrothermal-sedimentary type greenschist facies. source would be retromorphic or metasomatic hydrothermal solutions that circulated through major fractures.

Isophya nagyi, a new phaneropterid bush-cricket (Orthoptera: Tettigonioidea) from the Eastern Carpathians (Caliman Mountains, North Romania)

This study describes Isophya nagyi sp. n. from the Caliman Mountains (Eastern Carpathians, Romania). This species was discovered on the basis of the special rhythmic pattern of its male calling song. Regarding morphology Isophya nagyi is similar to the species of the Isophya camptoxypha species-group (I. ciucasi, I. sicula, I. posthumoidalis, I. camptoxypha), however the male stridulatory file ...

Multidimensionality and scale in a landscape ethnoecological partitioning of a mountainous landscape (Gyimes, Eastern Carpathians, Romania)

BACKGROUND Traditional habitat knowledge is an understudied part of traditional knowledge. Though the number of studies increased world-wide in the last decade, this knowledge is still rarely studied in Europe. We document the habitat vocabulary used by Csángó people, and determine features they used to name and describe these categories. STUDY AREA AND METHODS Csángó people live in Gyimes (C...

Mineral Deposits.

Rising economic value of a large number of metals as a result of their importance for new technologies and industrial development has renewed worldwide interest for mineral exploration and detailed studies of ore deposits. The Dill’s (2010) “chessboard” classification of mineral deposits is the most recent attempt to provide an exhaustive overview of all mineral deposits known to date. However,...

Key Factors Influencing Rates of Heterotrophic Sulfate Reduction in Active Seafloor Hydrothermal Massive Sulfide Deposits

Hydrothermal vents are thermally and geochemically dynamic habitats, and the organisms therein are subject to steep gradients in temperature and chemistry. To date, the influence of these environmental dynamics on microbial sulfate reduction has not been well constrained. Here, via multivariate experiments, we evaluate the effects of key environmental variables (temperature, pH, H2S, [Formula: ...
